Stephen Wilcox has been a talented inventor and a great entrepreneur. In parallel to the air engine, he worked on improvements of the steam engine and the steam boiler.
His findings can be categorized in two period of time.
The first one from 1859 to 1865 gave birth to Air Engines that were inthe continuity of the Ericsson Caloric Engines.
The second period from 1883 to 1889 gave birth to more sophisticated Air Engines that tried to competed woth the Steam Engine.
